For a long time, fluorescent light was the most popular choice for lighting stores, galleries, and showroom. But recently, the invention of LED light has brought improvements in efficiency and durability. Not only it saves money and energy, but there are also many other benefits to LED lighting.

LED stands for light-emitting diodes that give solid-state lighting. It provides 5 to 10 times as much of light per watt as normal bulbs. Also, the lifespan of an LED lighting is tens of thousands of hours. It also offers precise control of light output compared to normal bulbs that spread light in all directions. But that does not mean LED does not have problems.

LED, despite its long lifespan, degrades over time. As time passes by, LEDs dim and change color. This is because the heat and light exposure causes physical and chemical changes in the LED and the phosphors that control the light. LED produces heat with light. Therefore, the heat has to be released in some sort of method. Usually, LEDs are connected to heat sinks to drain away the heat from the LED, and the heat sinks have to be designed in such a way that they get rid of the heat somehow. If not, the LEDs will heat up and degrade quickly, and eventually fail.

Currently, there are two forms of LED lights on the market. One of them is a ceiling lamp, and the other is a light bulb. Despite their differences, both lamps have the same internal structure and are divided into the lamp bead and the drive.

The lamp beads are the parts that turn on the white plastic part of the hood or the bulb of the ceiling light. It is with yellow rectangles, and you can see a circuit board lined. The yellow rectangles on this circuit board are the lamp beads. The number of LED lights determines how bright your light is.

The drive for the LED light is on the bottom, and its exterior is not visible. The headlight drive is a black box. Before the lamp is installed, first the drive must be installed. The actuator has the functions of regulating constant current, reducing voltage, rectifying, and filtering.

If the LED light does not turn on, there is a possible solution to this. The first step is to check whether the circuit is correctly installed. If it is your new lamp that does not turn on, you can use your pencil to measure it or install a normal bulb in its place to see whether there is a voltage in the circuit. After checking that the circuit is correctly installed, you can do the following to repair your LED light.

When it comes to the problem of the LED light not turning on, 9 out of 10 times, the problem has to do with the drive. The light-emitting diodes generally have high requirements on both voltage and current. If the current is too small or too large, the LED light will not light up properly. Therefore, you should make sure to have a constant current driver, rectifier, voltage reducer and other devices in your driver to maintain your driver current and voltage. If the light turns on but is dim, you should consider that the problem is within the driver. Then you can purchase a new driver to replace your old one.

If there is a problem to the lamp bead, then there is a possible solution. First, the LED beads are divided into a series of beads. Each of these beads is connected in series and are connected in parallel as well. So, when one of the beads burns out, it does not only affect that single bead, but also the whole string. Therefore, the whole string will go dark. If one bead of each string burns out, the entire light will go dark. If there is a bead burning in each string, you should check the capacitance or the resistance on the drive. You can tell whether the bead is burnt by checking if there is a black dot in the middle. If the number of burnt lamp beads is small, you can improve your Led light by burning the lamp bead behind the two soldering feet with an electric iron welding together. If the number of burnt lamp beads is too much, you only have the option to buy a new lamp panel to replace the old one so that it will not affect the lighting brightness.

If the LED lights are flickering when they are turned off, there may be a problem in the wiring. Most likely, the problem lies in the switching control of the zero – line. This kind of line should be corrected immediately or it will produce danger. The correct way is to switch the control fire line and the zero line that connects to the Led light. If you do not find any problem with the circuit, it may be possible that the LED lamp generates self-induced current. In this case, the easiest way to fix this problem is to buy a 220V relay and connect the coil to the lamp or just visit a professional electric store where you can get not only quality products but also good advice.
